Arsenal are reportedly scouting Juventus defender Merih Demiral ahead of the January transfer window as Mikel Arteta focuses on signing a centre-back – and Gunners supporters have reacted on Twitter to the potential signing.

Demiral, 22, has become a regular in Andrea Pirlo’s side this season – starting and finishing the club’s last five Serie A matches. It has seen him manage just 16 appearances in total, though, since joining Juventus from Sassuolo in the summer of 2019.

After a good start last term, he suffered a long-term injury but is back and impressing. The Daily Star claim Arsenal have taken note, sending scouts to watch the Turkey star while he shines alongside the likes of Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci.

Back in the summer, Tuttosport claimed Everton, Wolves and Leicester all had offers for Demiral rejected in the summer – underlining Juventus’ desire to keep Demiral at the Old Lady. But Arsenal are interested and have been scouting him.

A recent report from CalcioMercato claims Juventus rate Demiral in the region of £34million, but even if such an offer comes in for Demiral it remains to be seen if they would accept his exit. He has a contract at Juventus until the summer of 2024.

Arsenal supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that the club are scouting Demiral – and many are desperate to see him move to north London from Juventus, especially as the Serie A champion would form a solid relationship with Gabriel.
