Arsenal supporters react as club reportedly linked with Velez Sarsfield star Thiago Almada

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Velez Sarsfield wonderkid Thiago Almada this summer as the teenage ace continues to shine in the top tier of Argentine football – and Gunners fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports.

Almada, 19, has been in stunning form for Sarsfield since breaking into the senior side. This season, he has had a hand in seven goals during his 25 appearances in all competitions – despite starting only 13 of those.

Mundo Deportivo have claimed that Arsenal are rivalling Manchester City and Atletico Madrid for the teenage playmaker this summer, who can play up front, out wide but most naturally in the 10 role.

It is believed interested parties can sign Almada for £19.2million this summer, but if he is not recruited by August 31, then his release clause will increase to £22million. It is likely, then, that clubs will move for the Argentina Under-20 international.

Speaking during an interview which was quoted by Mundo Deportivo in another article, Almada has stated that he is a big fan of Manchester City and Pep Guardiola and wants to become like Carlos Tevez.

Arsenal supporters have reacted on Twitter to reports that the Gunners are after Almada, and many fans of the north London club are desperate for sporting director Edu to organise a deal for the youngster.
