Arsenal supporters fume at Guendouzi after shock defeat against BATE

Unai Emery oversaw a period of initial improvement at Arsenal but since then, their away form has regressed to close to the level it was at when Arsene Wenger eventually departed the club.

By the end of the Frenchman’s reign, the Gunners were incredibly poor away from home and similar traits have crept into Emery’s 2019 side since the turn of the year.

But despite that, a Europa League assignment away against BATE in Belarus should still have produced a win for Emery’s side and he put out a reasonably strong side to make that a reality.

It didn’t work as the Gunners came away with a 1-0 defeat, thanks to a goal right on the stroke of half-time from Stanislaw Dragun.

Matteo Guendouzi has enjoyed an impressive debut season at the Emirates, impressing with his willingness to get on the ball and press opponents relentlessly.

The Frenchman got the nod in the centre of the park last night but was too slack with his passing, and it did not escape the notice of the Gunners fans on Twitter.
