Arsenal are struggling to get a deal over the line for Fiorentina striker, Dusan Vlahovic, and a report from The Times has claimed a lack of guarantee on Champions League football is impacting their pursuit.
Vlahovic is Arsenal’s number one attacking target for this month. However, despite ongoing speculation and differing reports, the Gunners appear no closer to doing a deal. Indeed, The Times has also stated today how Juventus have even put their own bid in to land Vlahovic this weekend.
However, the most worrying note from the entire report is not that of Juventus’ bid, but more something Arsenal as a club need to affect. The Times reports how Arsenal’s lack of Champions League football, in addition to what it states is a ‘recent diminished status’ in English football, is hindering their Vlahovic efforts.

Vlahovic is expected to have the pick of top European clubs this summer. A move in January is seeming increasingly unlikely, despite La Viola being under pressure to cash in for as much money as possible.
Arsenal, then, will be concerned that their status in Europe seems to be impacting things. It once again highlights the importance of Champions League football.
TBR’s View: Vlahovic To Arsenal Looking Further Away Than Ever
At one point it looked like Arsenal might actually do this. But at the moment, it seems Vlahovic is as far away as he’s ever been from joining Arsenal.
This report of how the club is viewed in Europe is a worry. Of course, we all know the Gunners’ history and the fact they have been successful in the past. But in the here and now, clubs and players are obviously taking note.
Vlahovic is, as we know, the ideal striker for Arsenal. But he seems to have too many worries about the Gunners already and that means a deal is looking unlikely.
