Both Arsenal and Celtic clocked up crucial Europa League victories on Thursday evening over Vitoria Guimaraes and Lazio respectively – which has seen Kieran Tierney congratulate Scott Brown on his Instagram post.
Tierney, 22, made his third appearance for Arsenal on Thursday night following his £25million move to The Emirates on deadline day. He laid on an assist for Gabriel Martinelli’s winner, as Arsenal won 3-2.
Celtic, meanwhile, produced a magical night at Parkhead to beat Italian giants Lazio. After going a goal down to Manuel Lazzari’s opener, Ryan Christie and Christopher Jullien struck to send Celtic to the top of Group E with a 2-1 win.
Tierney posted on Instagram after the match, as he awaits his Premier League debut with the Gunners – which could come in the form of a clash against London rivals Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon at The Emirates.
Tierney is still awaiting a go in England’s top flight, after playing against Standard Liege and Vitoria in the Europa League and Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. Sead Kolasinac stands in the Scotland international’s way.
Celtic captain Scott Brown replied to Tierney’s Instagram post, congratulating his former teammate on beating Portuguese side Vitoria. Tierney replied, thanking Brown before describing Celtic’s triumph over Lazio as “what a result”.
