Arsenal have a real 'must-pick' player in their ranks, rivals 'just don't know how to cope' with him

Arsenal star Kieran Tierney put in a superb display for Scotland on Wednesday night as Euro 2020 preparations continue.

The 23-year-old has been sensational for the Gunners all season, one of the most consistent and reliable players in Mikel Arteta’s ranks.

Likewise, Tierney has been in great form for Scotland.

He has helped his nation reach Euro 2020 and make an unbeaten start to World Cup qualifying.

Celtic fans left short-changed by Sky Sports once again

Scotland are currently fine-tuning their preparations ahead of the tournament and faced the Netherlands on Wednesday.

The two nations played out a 2-2 draw at the Estadio Algarve in Portugal.

Jack Hendry opened the scoring on 10 minutes before Memphis Depay equalised seven minutes later.

Kevin Nisbet thought he had netted the winner from close range on 63 minutes.

However, Depay fired home a superb free kick in the 89th minute to deny the Scots victory.

And throughout the game, Tierney impressed, with the Daily Record giving him 8/10.

“Arsenal defender in his now usual back three slot but caught the eye with his determination to make things happen when breaking out from the back line,” they wrote.

The Scotsman also gave the Arsenal star 8/10 for his display.

“Teams still don’t know how to cope with him motoring forward from centre-half,” they wrote.

“His charges caused the Dutch difficulties while still capable of all his defensive duties, and more. A must-pick.”

Scotland face Luxembourg in their last pre-Euro 2020 friendly this Sunday, and then open their campaign against Czech Republic on 14 June.

Tierney has been one of Arsenal’s best and most consistent players, shining amid a sea of mediocrity for much of the season.

Mikel Arteta really missed him at various points of the Premier League season due to injuries.

Now fully fit, he’ll hopefully give Scotland a Euro 2020 to remember and then return to help Arsenal back on track.
