Raheem Sterling joined Arsenal on deadline day in one of the most dramatic late moves you’re likely to ever see.

The Chelsea winger arrived at the Emirates at the death on deadline day.

At one point, it looked like Sterling to Arsenal wasn’t going to happen, and there were some big hurdles that needed to be cleared.

However, Arsenal did manage to get this deal done, and staff members at the Emirates were actually shocked by one element of this deal.

According to The Telegraph, by the time this deal was done, Sterling was more affordable than anyone at Arsenal expected him to be.

The winger was enthusiastic to join the club, and Arsenal apparently aren’t paying anything close to Sterling’s full salary.

This just goes to show how quickly things can change on deadline day as on Friday morning people at Arsenal believed Sterling wasn’t a feasible target.

Arsenal have pulled of a bargain loan for a proven winner on a short-term basis.

Sterling knows the manager, he knows many of the Arsenal players and he’s already settled in the city.

Simply put, this is a deal that ticks so many boxes, and there’s reason to believe that Sterling could be the difference-maker in Arsenal’s title charge this season.

Whether or not Arsenal can get over the line in the Premier League this term remains to be seen, but having a player like Sterling in their squad certainly helps.

Sterling has been there and done it before in terms of winning the Premier League, and he could help Arsenal get over the line this season.
