Arsenal have been linked with a move for Dani Ceballos in recent days.
The Gunners are being tipped to fight rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the attacking midfielder’s services.
The Real Madrid youngster has been heavily linked with Spurs in recent weeks, but Marca (via The Sun) claim the Gunners are now in pole position.
Apparently they want to do a loan deal for Ceballos, something the talented Spaniard would be on board with.
After playing just 13 games last term, regular game time is Ceballos’ biggest requirement going into 2019/20, and there’s a good chance he’ll get that at the Emirates Stadium.
And his potential signing could serve as the catalyst for a player whom many fans feel probably needs one.
Mesut Ozil, should he stick around, has a lot to prove in 2019/20.
In the eyes of many, the playmaker simply doesn’t do enough to justify his mammoth £350,000-a-week wages.
Perhaps Ceballos coming in could be the kick up the backside Ozil needs, as the number 10 role is where the Spaniard operates best.
Coming from Ozil’s former club Real, the German may feel compelled to act as a role model to Ceballos and show him how it’s done.
