With Thomas Partey still awaiting the chance to make his Arsenal debut, it surely cannot be argued that Mikel Arteta’s men did not enjoy a very good summer window.
The Gunners look stronger in a number of areas. But they also look set to benefit in the coming years from signing a number of exciting young players.

The strategy should ensure that Arteta stands a very good chance of building something special at the Emirates. And it also suggests that Arsenal fans should expect to see more youngsters targeted in the coming windows.
One player who has been linked with the Gunners this year, but, as yet, has gone nowhere is Bayern Munich starlet Angelo Stiller.
SportBild reported back in May that Arsenal wanted the 19-year-old, who is yet to make his first-team debut for the Bavarian giants.

It may well be that Stiller remains on their radar. But if he is not, perhaps reports from this weekend should prompt the Gunners to consider reigniting their interest.
The Sun on Sunday (11/10; page 61) has claimed that Wolves are monitoring the teenager. It is noted that his contract expires at the end of the season.
But Arsenal should do all they can to ensure that they win the race to sign Stiller.
The youngster boasts a stunning record. He is predominantly a holding midfielder, but he has still managed to contribute 24 assists in 97 games.
Stiller looks composed and assured defensively. But he also has a touch of class in the final third. He will often take set-pieces for Bayern II.
Of course, some may argue that it may be slightly concerning that he is yet to feature in the first-team fold. But on a free transfer, it looks to be a real no-brainer.
Arsenal are obviously unable to get anything done until January at the earliest. But reports of Wolves’s interest should perhaps act as a catalyst that leads to the Gunners stepping up their interest before he can head elsewhere.
