Leeds United are said to have made an offer to sign Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa but surely Arsenal need to consider rivalling the Yorkshire side to bring in cover for Kieran Tierney – especially after Sven Mislintat’s verdict on the Croatian ace.
Bosnian defender Sead Kolasinac looks set to leave the club permanently this summer as he remains on loan at Schalke, while Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka are preferred in other positions. Cedric Soares can do a job, but he is right-footed.
A left-back, then, is needed at The Emirates. Meanwhile, Leeds have supposedly made an offer to sign 23-year-old Sosa according to Croatian agent Franjo Vranjković – who told Sportske Novosti this week that Sosa is the subject of a bid.
“He has an offer from Leeds United, and some other clubs from the Premier League are also interested,” Vranjkovic said. “Only the English can pay as much as Stuttgart is asking. I estimate that it will be about €20million (£17million).”

It is no surprise that Sosa has emerged as a target for Premier League clubs. His 10 assists in 24 Bundesliga appearances this season is enormously impressive, and at £17million, he is particularly cheap – though he does lack a senior Croatia cap.
So, with Arsenal needing a left-back just as much as Leeds, surely they need to rival Marcelo Bielsa’s side. Especially because Stuttgart’s sporting director Mislintat – who spent about a year at Arsenal – recently compared him to David Beckham.
“Borna’s said himself that David Beckham is his role model, and I think he has the same qualities,” Mislintat told Bild – as per the Bundesliga’s official website in March. “His left foot is a real weapon.”
With Arsenal needing a decent left-back as cover for Tierney, the cheap price and attacking form of Sosa and the verdict given by their ex-sporting director Mislintat – it is a no-brainer for Arsenal to beat Leeds and lure Sosa to North London.
