‘Arsenal should be all over that’: Some fans think Gunners can land the next Ramsey for £8.5m

Some Arsenal fans have urged the club to move for Corentin Tolisso after a report claimed he could cost as little as £8.5million.

The Gunners have done well in the summer transfer window but there’s certainly scope to bolster the ranks in midfield.

Given Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard were only on loan, Mikel Arteta should look to bring in another top talent in the middle.

And Tolisso, a World Cup winner currently on Bayern Munich’s books, could be a good shout for Arsenal.

According to BILD, the German giants are willing to sell the 27-year-old for 10million euro, or around £8.5million.

Arsenal’s London rivals West Ham are apparently eyeing Tolisso, added the outlet.

Tolisso’s contract expires next summer, so this month is the last chance Bayern have of getting a decent fee for him.

Corentin Tolisso – the story so far

Tolisso came through the ranks at Lyon after joining aged 13 and made his debut in 2013, clocking up over 100 appearances for the club.

In 2017, Bayern came calling and he duly moved to the Allianz Arena for a reported £37.4million.

Tolisso has won four Bundesliga titles, one Champions League, two German Cups, one FIFA Club World Cup, one UEFA Supercup and three German Supercups.

In addition, he was part of the France squad that won the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Tolisso, who is closing in on 100 competitive appearances for Bayern, has sadly suffered from numerous injuries over the past few years.

This included a cruciate ligament rupture that sidelined him for most of the 2018-19 campaign.

Tolisso’s style of play

“Tolisso is a bit like [Toni] Kroos in terms of his style of play,” Jean-Pierre Papin told BILD, via the Bundesliga website.

“He can defend, he can attack and he can play an important role in midfield.

“He has great technique, is dangerous in front of goal and can also make goals.”
