Liverpool are readying a summer bid for Norwich City’s talented central defender Ben Godfrey, according to Football Insider.
They report that the Reds have been keeping close tabs on the 21-year-old Englishman this season as he has played a pivotal role in Norwich’s charge towards promotion back to the Premier League.
An attractive, passing game has been integral to that rise and Godfrey is just one of many young Three Lions player now who are perfectly comfortable with that – and that’s exactly what Liverpool need.
£10m is reportedly the benchmark for any bid for the Englishman and that seems a reasonable price for a young, homegrown player who is only going to get better.

And another club who could use defensive reinforcements are Arsenal. Unai Emery has done a great deal of good work with the Gunners since taking over last summer but the heart of his defence remains a concern.
Some of their fans may feel they need a more experienced presence but they haven’t got the money – or, if they remain outside the Champions League, the clout – to land a Virgil van Dijk type.
Rob Holding was arguably Arsenal’s best defender this season before injury cruelly cut his season short at Old Trafford in December and Godfrey could have a similar impact – if Arsenal join the race with Liverpool.
