Arsenal are being linked with a move for Man City defender, Eric Garcia, as Mikel Arteta looks to make January additions.
Garcia is said to be on his way out of the Manchester club, with the Spaniard yet to agree to a new deal. Indeed, Barcelona are said to be keen on the youngster, too.

Gunners boss Arteta is keen on improving his squad once again after a busy summer. The signings of Willian, Thomas Partey, and Gabriel, have all yielded mixed results so far.
But is signing Garcia going to be something that solves any immediate problems for the Arsenal manager? It has to be said, it probably won’t.
Talent but no experience
There is no doubting that Garcia is a fine player. Still only 19, the young defender is clearly a talent. You don’t get into the Man City squad at such a young age under Pep Guardiola without being a top player.
However, Arteta needs players who can make an immediate impact.
Arsenal already have the likes of William Saliba to develop. And given they’re looking for instant improvement in terms of signings, the addition of Garcia looks more like a long-term project.

Furthermore, the two 90 minutes Garcia has completed this season has seen City conceded five against Leicester, while a 1-1 draw with Leicester was hardly inspiring.
So, while Eric Garcia remains a wanted man and a player Mikel Arteta knows well, for the here and now, Arsenal might be best served pursuing different targets.
