'Arsenal are also': Fabrizio Romano says Edu is about to make his move for another Brazilian, with Marquinhos deal done
Arsenal are preparing to make an official opening bid for Manchester City striker, Gabriel Jesus, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Jesus has emerged as the top attacking target for Mikel Arteta and Edu this summer, with the Brazilian forward set to be pushed out at Man City by Erling Haaland’s arrival. Indeed, reports had claimed weeks ago that Arsenal were actually in advance talks with Jesus, although nothing has since come of it.
And according to Fabrizio Romano, the reason we might not have heard anything is because no official bid has actually come in for Jesus as yet. But, taking to his Twitter account earlier today, Romano has confirmed an Arsenal bid for Gabriel Jesus is imminent.
7 Football Clubs Who Are CURSED In ONE Competition
As you can see in the tweet, a bid for Jesus is coming after the Gunners have apparently tied up a deal for fellow Brazilian, Marquinhos. The Sao Paulo youngster is signing a deal with the Gunners until 2027.
However, while news of Marquinhos’ signing will excite Arsenal fans, it is the bid for Jesus which will perk interest even further. The Gunners fans have been desperate to see a new striker arrive for some time. Arsenal missed out in January, when Dusan Vlahovic opted to join Juventus.
TBR’s View: Arsenal Need To Bid For Gabriel Jesus Quickly
Arsenal fans will be way of this deal actually getting done. The Vlahovic transfer will have left some battle scars and they’ll want the board to wrap this one up nice and quickly.
Of course, Jesus would be a remarkable signing for Arsenal at the moment. A proven Premier League goal-getter and yet still young enough to get even better, he ticks boxes galore for Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal need a big summer and they need to get the right players in. Signing Gabriel Jesus, then, would be a perfect start.
