Arsenal sending scouts to watch Yunus Musah - Romano
Fabrizio Romano has told CBS Sports that Arsenal have sent scouts to monitor Yunus Musah, but they are not the only Premier League giant keen on the 20-year-old.
Musah was certainly one of the revelations of the World Cup. The Valencia starlet made up one third of the extremely impressive USMNT midfield alongside Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie.
Of course, it may have been slightly painful for Arsenal fans to see Musah shine on the big stage in Qatar. The youngster spent seven years on the club’s books before leaving for Los Che in 2019.
Arsenal want Yunus Musah
But perhaps there is a chance that Musah could end up returning to the Emirates at some stage in the future.
Romano was discussing the USMNT players who are attracting interest after their showings at the World Cup. And while talking about Musah, the transfer guru suggested that Arsenal very much have the midfielder on their radar.
“Yunus Musah is also in the list of Premier League clubs,” he told CBS Sports. “Arsenal recently sent their scouts to monitor him, but there are also other Premier League giants well informed on the Valencia midfielder.
“Inter Milan are interested too, but the price tag could be too high for them in January. Of course, Musah could leave Valencia between January and June.”
Musah has taken a step forward this season and is now really looking like one of the world’s most exciting midfielders. He carries the ball so well, works incredibly hard for his team, and boasts a frightening amount of pace.
He is unlikely to come cheap. His agent recently told Calciomercato that he does not believe that he will cost less than £34.5 million next summer. And that was before he had a brilliant World Cup. Meanwhile, his contract at the Mestalla includes a £86 million release clause.
But if Arsenal can agree a deal for around £34.5 million, that could really prove to be a bargain.
He is a ‘stunning‘ talent. And it will surely not be too long before he is moving on from Valencia.
Arsenal will already be ruing the fact that he left the club once before. He has spoken about being open to a return. And from here, his asking price is surely only going to go one way.
