With around three weeks remaining until the summer transfer window closes, Arsenal need to get moving.
The Gunners have signed just one player so far in the form of Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli, with signings proving difficult so far.
Unai Emery has been chasing Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha and Celtic defender Kieran Tierney, but has not yet made a breakthrough with either pursuit.
Fans have been frustrated so far, and the situation with Laurent Koscielny has added to fans’ tensions on social media.
The club are in a precarious position at the moment, but they do have a big chance to lift the mood if they can secure two deals that are reportedly in the pipeline.
Arsenal can raise fans’ spirits by completing the signings of Dani Ceballos and William Saliba.
Both players have been strongly linked with bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur, but if Emery can secure both then it could lift the mood around the club massively, as well as send out a statement.
Spurs have already broken their transfer record this summer with the signing on Tanguy Ndombele.
It would be disastrous from Arsenal’s point of view if Spurs were to then go and conclude deals for Saliba and Ceballos from here.
The duo appear to be within their grasp – they cannot let them slip through the net.
