Report: Arsenal scouts blown away by two under-21 talents this weekend as Gunners plan for summer spending
Arsenal have been on a scouting mission this weekend ahead of the summer and their scouts have been blown away by Spanish duo Jesus Vazquez and Cristhian Mosquera.
According to a report from Super Deporte, the Gunners were among a host of clubs from Europe’s top leagues to watch the young Spaniards in action this weekend. Both players were in action for Spain’s under-19s, as they drew 2-2 with Austria.
The pair both played 90 minutes in a back four and Super Deporte reports how Arsenal’s scouting team were said to be seriously impressed by the Valencia duo.
However, the Gunners face a stern test if they wish to sign the pair this summer. Clubs like Juventus, Real Madrid, Barca and even Tottenham and Liverpool were said to have representatives at the game. It very much seems, then, that there is a scramble when it comes to Vazquez and Mosquera.

These two tick plenty of boxes when it comes to Arsenal and their recruitment stance recently. Both young, up and coming players who have room for improvement under the guidance of Mikel Arteta.
Of course, landing either player will be a big job. Valencia will not want to lose the pair on the cheap and Mosquera’s deal is said to have a release clause of around £22m.
However, Arsenal are building something under Arteta and Edu and there’s certainly a lot for Vazquez and Mosquera to like about the Gunners’ project at the moment.
