Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has suggested on his YouTube channel that Santi Cazorla would consider heading back to Arsenal in some capacity and supporters have been reacting on Twitter.

The expert believes that heading back as a player seems unlikely but suggests he would return as a coach whilst Mikel Arteta is in charge.

Cazorla is currently with La Liga outfit Villarreal having spent six years at the Emirates Stadium, making 180 appearances for the Gunners.

He scored 29 goals and registered 45 assists during his time in North London; winning the FA Cup twice and building up a strong rapport with supporters.

It was a real shame that his time at the club ended with him battling an Achilles problem which threatened to curtail his career prematurely.

Cazorla has fought back with aplomb, however, scoring 12 goals and claiming seven assists from his 29 appearances this season.

Speaking on a potential return to Arsenal in some capacity, Ballague thinks it might be possible.

He said on his YouTube channel: “Going back to Arsenal with Arteta is something that I think he will consider as a coach.

“I asked him about it, he said yet, he will consider as a coach when he retires but he wants to play for two more years.”

Here is a selection of tweets from Arsenal supporters who appear keen for the Spaniard to return.
