Arsenal are said to be furious over the situation surrounding Lucas Torreira’s loan spell with Atletico Madrid, with the Gunners believing the Spaniards are inentionally not playing him.
Torreira is midway through a season-long loan spell with Atletico but has started just two La Liga games all season.

And according to Libertad Digital, the Gunners are said to be seething at what they believe is a deliberate ploy by the Spanish side to try and drive down the price of the midfielder.
Torreira is thought to be surplus to requirements in north London but the club are thought to want to recoup some of the money they spent on him, as well as get his reported £75k-a-week wages off the books.

The Uruguayan played 29 times in the Premier League last term before being farmed out in the summer. With Mikel Arteta signing Thomas Partey and having other options, it would appear Torreira’s career with the Gunners is over.
A bold move from Atletico and worth the try – TBR View
If Atletico do want to keep Torreira, then this is a bold way of trying to make sure they don’t pay over the odds for him.
His tenacious style makes him the exact type of player Diego Simeone loves but with the whole footballing world struggling for money a bit, there is method behind this supposed madness from Atleti.
They also know Arsenal do want rid of Torreira and other players, so while it may seem off to Arsenal, it’s not the daftest tactic ever imposed by a club.
