Alexandre Lacazette is a priority target for Arsenal and the club have made a ‘very nice’ bid for the striker. The Telegraph report that the Gunners have made a bid close to the asking price for the Frenchman, but Lyon now expect the striker to stay at the club.
The original plan had been for the 26-year-old to join Atletico Madrid, but that transfer won’t happen as the Spanish club have an embargo that prevents them from signing players. Jean-Michel Aulas was quoted in as saying the following:
“Alexandre Lacazette was told he could leave. We had negotiations with Atletico. Things did not work out. We now have a very nice offer from Arsenal. But for us he will not leave.”
Arsenal need to make a major breakthrough soon as they attempt to build a squad that is good enough to challenge for the title. Lacazette may be unproven in a big European league, but he has been one of the most reliable goalscorers in Ligue 1 during recent seasons. It would be a good signing for the Gunners and one that they need to push for.
According to the player’s agent, Lucas Perez is a summer transfer target for both Sevilla and Deportivo. The Spaniard arrived at the Emirates Stadium in a £17 million deal last summer, but he hasn’t been able to hold down a regular spot in the first team. When asked about his client’s future, Rodrigo Fernandez told Radio Galega, as reported the Mirror and Daily Star:
“The key date is 3 July when Arsenal’s pre-season begins,”
“Anything is possible -the president of Deportivo can do wonders while last year I met with Sevilla, who again are interested.”
This won’t be the biggest disappointment for Arsenal, as the Spaniard isn’t a regular in the first team. Although he has played well at times, he hasn’t shown the quality required to be a regular in the starting eleven and that is one of the reasons that he is pushing for a move away from the capital. Perez will have retained value in his home country and the Gunners can expect to bring in a good amount of money for him if he does depart.
Dan Crowley has been one of the standout youngsters at the Arsenal academy in recent seasons and, according to ESPN, he is attracting interest from the Bundesliga and the Championship. A number of clubs are believed to be tracking the talented midfielder with interest in both a loan and permanent deal. Fulham are one of the sides interested, while Hannover are hoping to take him to Germany for a season.
Although he has yet to play for the first team, Crowley is seen as one of the best young players at the club and Arsene Wenger will be interested in finding the best destination for him. The Gunners are likely to prefer a loan deal as it will allow them to track his progress and see if he will be worth keeping at the club. At the age of 19, it is too soon to make a complete judgement on him.
