With just hours left in the summer transfer window, there is still some potential transfer business involving Arsenal – and here is an evening round-up of the latest news.
Thomas Parety update
Atletico Madrid midfielder Atletico midfielder Thomas Partey has arrived in London ahead of his move to Arsenal, according to the Independent’s deadline day blog (Monday, 18:12) – as per Fabrizio Romano.
It is understood that the deal is “on the verge” of being completed and he underwent a medical in Madrid earlier on Monday.
Partey, 27, is a no-nonsense defensive midfielder that looks like he could be a brilliant addition at the Emirates stadium and looks well suited to the physicality of the Premier League.
He has been a key player for Spanish club Atletico as a midfielder that breaks up play in front of the back four, something that Gunners supporters may now get to see.

Lucas Torreira loan exit imminent
Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has reportedly completed his move to Spanish club Atletico Madrid.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the 24-year-old midfielder will join the La Liga side on loan and the detailed terms are a straight loan with no mention of a permanent clause.
The Urugyay international has fallen out of favour with Gunners manager Mikel Arteta and has now moved abroad to try get his career back on track.
