Arsenal are said to be interested in signing Piotr Zielinski from Napoli, by Il Matino.
Zielinski has caught the eye over a number of seasons in Italy, and it seems that Arsenal are now taking a look at him as Edu and Mikel Arteta aim to bolster their midfield options.
With Granit Xhaka seemingly on the verge of leaving, Arsenal will have a hole in midfield that they need to fill.
Zielinski would be a slightly different profile of player than most which Arsenal have looked to bring in this season, as he is now 27 and already nearing the peak of his career.
But that does not make him any less of an appealing option than some of the younger players that Arsenal have been linked with.
It is not the first time that Zielinski has been tipped to move to England, as the Guardian say that Jurgen Klopp once sent a helicopter to bring him to Liverpool, but failed in his attempts.

Energy and speed
Zielinski certainly would provide the Gunners with more energy and speed in midfield than Xhaka posssesses, as his stamina is one of his key strengths.
The Polish international is also a good technical operator, with Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes a big fan.
“Technically, I can say that Zieliński is better trained than I am. We had a good challenge,” he said to Canal Sport+. “I think in the past, Zieliński was actually a bit shy. He was really young then, just like me, at that time.
“I spoke to him a few months ago and told him that I would like to play with him again. So, who knows what the future has waiting for us. For me, he is a really, really top player.”
With Arteta’s system demanding that Arsenal press high and look to play on the front foot, Zielinski could be a good fit.
And his lung-busting runs from midfield would surely make Arsenal a bigger attacking threat next term, than when they had Xhaka in their side, who specialises in sitting in front of their defence.
