Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Thilo Kehrer’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The right-back could be brought in with Mikel Arteta shaking up his defence ahead of the 2021-22 campaign. Earlier this year, a report claimed that Kehrer had lost the trust of Mauricio Pochettino.
Kehrer, 24, joined PSG in 2018 after an impressive early showing at German club Schalke. But having played 94 times in three seasons for the French giants, it simply has not worked out – laying on two assists in that time. L’Equipe ran a report on the Germany international in March.
It said that Pochettino had lost trust in Kehrer – as per Paris Fans: “Kehrer therefore no longer appears today as a solid recourse in the eyes of the staff. A situation that the interested party lives badly. The defender has been looking gloomy in recent weeks.” Now, Arsenal want to sign him.
It is believed the Gunners will be after a right-back this summer. Now even more so, after a report on Monday read that Hector Bellerin had asked to go. A new right-sided defender is needed, with Calum Chambers in the final year of his deal. Kehrer could be that man.

Can Kehrer take Arsenal forward – despite Pochettino view?
He is a top player. Kehrer is a Germany international, and one that has impressed on occasion both for PSG and Schalke – but more so the latter. While he might not have played to his best ability at PSG, there was obviously a reason as to why PSG spent £33million to get him in 2018.
But it is about unlocking that potential. With time on his side and PSG supposedly looking to get rid of him this summer – a move to Arsenal could be just what Kehrer needs. He might be what Arsenal need, too.
