Arsenal reportedly want to sign a player that Aaron Ramsey recently labelled ‘breathtaking’

Arsenal could reportedly consider a move to sign Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala this summer if they fail to keep Martin Odegaard beyond the end of the summer – and Aaron Ramsey’s recent verdict on Dybala will have Arsenal fans excited.

Odegaard, 22, has shown moments of brilliance since joining Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid – scoring goals against Tottenham and Olympiacos. But Arsenal do not have a permanent clause in the loan agreement they have in place with Madrid.

So, losing Odegaard is a real possibility this summer. Real might want to keep him, and even if they want to sell, their asking price might be far too high for Arsenal. That is why SPORT claim The Gunners might look to consider Dybala this summer.

Dybala is entering the final year of his contract, which is worth £125,000 a week (Sun). Arsenal could take advantage of that this summer, and Ramsey – an Arsenal icon – gave a verdict on Dybala that should convince Arsenal to take action soon.

“I can just confirm that Dybala is an unbelievable player,” Ramsey told The Athletic in June 2020. “He’s very gifted — a team player — and some of the things he’s done in training and some of the games this season has been quite breathtaking.”

TBR’s view – Dybala can give Arsenal something different

The Argentina international is a proper superstar. Odegaard is a top player, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is excellent – though declining – Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka are really exciting talents. But they aren’t top tier.

Dybala is. He is higher than Champions League quality, he is title-winning calibre. If Arsenal can get Dybala, a five-time Serie A champion, then they would give themselves the platform to fight for Champions League football again.
