Arsenal are one of several clubs reportedly eyeing Yuri Alberto ahead of the January transfer window.

Earlier in December, Goal.com claimed that the Gunners hierarchy had made contact over the 20-year-old.

Arsenal have reportedly got in touch with Andre Cury, Alberto’s agent.

As well as the Gunners, Zenit St Petersburg and Shakhtar Donetsk are also eyeing the Internacional ace.

Goal.com have since provided an update, claiming the Brazilian club wants no less than €25million (around £22million).

Arsenal director Edu knows the Brazilian market well.

He has previously signed Gabriel Martinelli and Pablo Mari from their football leagues.

Could Alberto be the next Brazilian to make his way to the Emirates Stadium?

If £22million is indeed the price tag, that would be a bargain for a 20-year-old striker with a good goalscoring record.

Arsenal fans should certainly be pleased about such a low price tag for such a top prospect.

Can Arsenal land Neymar 2.0 in January?

Alberto enjoyed a decent maiden season in the Internacional first team in 2020.

He is fast, is an excellent dribbler, is very composed in front of goal, and can play across the whole front line.

Alberto netted nine goals in 23 Serie A games, and 11 in all competitions.

And in 2021, he registered 19 goals and four assists from 55 games in all competitions.

There have even been comparisons with Neymar, testament to his huge potential.

Admittedly, it won’t be easy for Arsenal to sign Alberto as he’s such a big asset to his club.

The player himself has told Internacional fans to look forward to a big 2022 season from him.

Nonetheless, could a big enough offer from the Emirates tempt Alberto’s club into a January move?

Besides, the 2022 Brazilian season doesn’t get under way until late January.

This means there wouldn’t be any mid-season disruption in losing a player, and they could potentially reinvest ahead of the new campaign.
