Arsenal are reportedly in talks over bringing Dusan Vlahovic to the Emirates Stadium, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Gunners have apparently met with Fiorentina’s hierarchy over a potential January move for the 21-year-old striker.

Di Marzio claims Arsenal want to bring Vlahovic to north London and are willing to pay the price to do so.

The Serbia international’s club is reportedly after around £68million.

Arsenal and Fiorentina have apparently got the outlines of an agreement.

However, there is not yet an agreement with the player and his agents, with distance still between the sides at the moment, added Di Marzio.

Although this deal seems to be in the early stages, Arsenal fans should nonetheless be buzzing about the ball rolling.

Arsenal reportedly eyeing Vlahovic – “one of the strongest in Europe”

Vlahovic joined Fiorentina in 2018 from Partizan Belgrade and has developed into a lethal striker.

In 96 club appearances, he has registered 39 goals and five assists, including 21 goals in 37 Serie A matches last term.

Vlahovic has hit the ground running this season too, with 10 goals and one assist from 12 games in all competitions.

According to Italy legend Christian Vieri, Vlahovic is comparable to the likes of Erling Braut Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

“I think that, after Haaland and Mbappe, he’s one of the strongest in Europe,” he said on his Twitch channel.

“He has quality, technique. He is Serbian and they are all technically good. They are called the Brazilians of the east.”

And former Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic told Football Italia: “He will be the best striker of the next few years with Erling Haaland.”

In addition, Vlahovic’s style of play has been compared to a striker Arsenal fans will be familiar with – Robin van Persie.
