Arsenal have been linked with Sander Berge in recent months.

Jeunes Footeux claimed that the Gunners had actually made a bid for him back in June.

Now, according to The Times, the reported Arsenal target could well be on the move this summer.

The outlet claims Sheffield United are now ready to sell the 6ft 4in midfielder.

£35m reported price tag

Berge was an important part of the Blades side that finished in the top half of the Premier League table last year.

However, the 23-year-old was sidelined for more than four months due to a hamstring injury.

His club missed him as they lost their battle against relegation in their second top-flight season.

The Times claims Berge could cost Arsenal – or any other suitors – £35million.

But this would be worth it, given how good the Norway international is.

That said, Arsenal would need to hurry, because such a talented player is bound to have many suitors.

Indeed, Serie A duo Lazio and Napoli are reportedly looking at Berge too (The Star).

Arsenal want the “complete midfielder”?

A towering figure at 6ft 4in, Berge’s size gives him a big edge when it comes to protecting the back line as well as winning the ball further up the pitch.

Former United boss Chris Wilder waxed lyrical about the player, telling VG, as translated by Teamtalk: “I just have to say it: Sander has been unique.

“He is the one who has stood out for us. He is a complete midfielder, he can play as an 8 and as 6, he can play in different formations.”

In addition, Berge has already won 24 caps for Norway, who appear on the brink of a golden generation.

“Reminds me of Yaya Toure”

In recent months, fans on Twitter have compared him to the likes of Nemanja Matic, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Yaya Toure.
