Arsenal are looking to sell stars including Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Shkodran Mustafi this summer.
That’s the claim made by The Sun, who also report on the Gunners interest in Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, who is currently on loan at Everton.
Apparently Unai emery has been warned that he will only have a measly £40 million to spend ahead of 2019/20 if they miss out on Champions League qualification, and so the only way for that budget to increase would be through player sales.
Ozil, Mkhitaryan and Mustafi have all had poor seasons, particularly the latter.
Ozil has struggled make himself a regular under Emery, and Mkhitaryan has been inconsistent, while Mustafi has produced some utterly calamitous performances.
If Arsenal were to sell all three of those players then it would allow for some wholesale changes to the squad.
The trio rake in a combined £620,000-a-week from the club (Ozil £350,000-a-week, Mkhitaryan £180,000 and Mustafi £90,000, according to The Mirror) which really is obscene given the level of performance that has been on display.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of names ahead of the summer window, and selling these three first-team players will make their lives a lot easier when it comes to negotiating contracts.
