Arsenal predicted lineup vs Spurs: Ramsdale and Partey start
Here is our predicted lineup for Arsenal as they prepare to face Tottenham in the North London derby on Sunday.
Arteta facing key decisions in goal and in midfield
Arsenal go into the derby off the back of a much better run of form. They have won their last three in all competitions.
But Mikel Arteta still faces a couple of key decisions ahead of the clash. First up, he will need to decide who goes between the sticks.
Bernd Leno returned for the Carabao Cup tie with Wimbledon. But it had been Aaron Ramsdale who kept clean sheets against both Norwich and Burnley.
Leno is obviously the more experienced. But Arteta is surely asking for trouble if he decides against bringing Ramsdale back in.
Meanwhile, Thomas Partey may keep his place in the middle alongside Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Partey surprised many by starting against the Dons – seemingly in an effort to prove his fitness ahead of this weekend.
Elsewhere, Martin Odegaard, Nicolas Pepe and Emile Smith Rowe may all start behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Bukayo Saka however, is obviously a contender to feature. But Arteta has tended to take a cautious approach with the 20-year-old.
Tottenham clash set to help show how far Arsenal have actually come
Arsenal have won their last three. However, on paper, none of their results represent shocks.
The Burnley performance was impressive given what the Clarets can do to any side, particularly at Turf Moor.
But wins against Norwich and Wimbledon tell us little about where Arteta’s men actually are.
The clash with Spurs will provide a much better indication as to whether Arsenal have made steps forward since losing their first three.
With that in mind, here is our predicted lineup in full…
