Arsenal player told his team-mates in pre-season they can win the Premier League
Alex Zinchenko has been telling his Arsenal team-mates they can win the Premier League title since the first day he arrived.
The Telegraph report that Zinchenko has brought that winning mentality with him from Manchester City.
He knows what it takes to win trophies and he saw it in the Gunners squad as soon as he arrived and has not been shy about saying it.
Zinchenko is apparently one of the more vocal members of the group and seems to have been a transformative influence.
Zinchenko has been telling team-mates Arsenal can win the title
Before the season, Arsenal were tipped as just as likely to finish outside the top four as inside it by most observers.
Their last north London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season served to shape the perceptions of the two rivals.
Spurs were seen as having a ruthless winner at the helm and two world-class forwards at their disposal, with Arsenal’s project yet to bear serious fruit.
Now, the landscape has changed, proving that one game – no matter how big – can always be recovered from and probably should not be used to draw too many conclusions.
Arsenal sit top of the table, with Spurs looking to put a dent in those title hopes, but having put in precious few convincing performances this season.
Meanwhile, Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus have brought winning knowhow to the red half of north London, and the Gunners are looking to complete a double over their rivals tomorrow.
