Arsenal player likes Instagram post linking him with Premier League outfit
Arsenal misfit Reiss Nelson could find himself on the lookout for a new club this summer. His activity on Instagram might suggest that his favoured destination is Brighton.
Nelson has fallen way down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta. He was called upon just nine times last season, failing to earn a single start in the Premier League.
It’s unsure exactly just how much Arsenal want for Nelson. Several clubs are keen with CBS Sports believing Crystal Palace and Brentford to be alongside the Seagulls in the race.
Over the weekend an Instagram post from a Brighton fan site put a post on regarding their interest in Nelson.
What has Arsenal man Nelson said about a possible move to Brighton?
He’s not actually said anything. He has, however, liked the post and that will naturally get people talking.
Brighton’s correspondent for The Athletic has claimed there isn’t interest in Nelson from the Seagulls, although this Instagram episode does little to back that up.
Perhaps this is the Arsenal man’s way of suggesting he’s desperate to leave. At 21 he does have time on his side but playing football has to be paramount next season.
Nelson can play on either flank and would be a decent signing for lots of Premier League clubs – including Brighton.
The Seagulls are set for a windfall. Arsenal are set to pay them £50 million for Ben White and that will allow Graham Potter the chance to go shopping.
Nelson doesn’t know where he will play his football next season at this stage. Based on his latest Instagram like, he’d clearly relish the chance to swap Arsenal for Brighton.
