Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 6
Tracked back superbly and did brilliantly to distract Dele Alli to stop him from scoring but he looked more comfortable, if his options were limited when looking to go forward when moved forward. The harshest of critics will say that he could have cleared Dele Alli’s goal on the line as he swung his boot at it.
Aaron Ramsey – 6
Made some great runs forward to unsettle the Spurs defence but was never picked up by his team-mates. Pressed high and didn’t stop working, but when he did go forwards, Tottenham looked to exploit the space in behind.
Granit Xhaka – 5
Looked out of his depth at times as he failed to handle the pace and movement of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen exploiting the spaces around him. He too often just resorted to fouling them, and when on the ball tended to aim for long balls that he couldn’t pull off.
Kieran Gibbs – 6
Not as offensive minded as Oxlade-Chamberlain on the opposite flank, he seemed lost at times as he tracked back but failed to provide enough support. More comfortable when given a more defensive role.
