Arsenal have stepped up their efforts to land some new recruits ahead of the forthcoming transfer deadline on Thursday evening.

After a slow start to the window, the club has now signed Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid and Nicolas Pepe from Lille. William Saliba has also penned terms with the Gunners but will spend next season with St Etienne on loan.

The B£200,000-a-week player (Total Sportek) has fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp and could leave following the arrival of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.

Coutinho’s arrival at Arsenal would be massive. It would send out a massive to the rest of the division that the Gunners mean business in 2019/20.

The club does still need a defender or two to arrive, but nonetheless, Coutinho would be a welcome addition to Emery’s ranks.
