Celtic are flexing their muscles once more in the Scottish Premiership but right-back is one area that remains a weak spot.

Both Mikail Lustig and Christian Gamboa are not convincing and Brendan Rodgers will surely be looking to the January window to secure an upgrade.

Premier League outcasts from down south may be perfect; looking for league action but familiar enough with the club and its demands to be able to settle quickly.

With Karl Jenkinson not playing any league football at Arsenal, he is in dire need of a loan move that at 26, he really needs to be getting by now.

The Englishman is a solid defender, good at getting forward and knows about the expectations and playing for a big club with a huge fanbase.

At 26, he still has time to improve and would surely be obtainable on either a loan deal until the end of the season or a full-time basis.

The downside is he would be cup-tied for the Europa League if Celtic are still in it by the turn of the year, but he could add a new dimension to their title push.

One for Rodgers to consider as he looks to bolster his defence.
