Arsenal loanee Harry Clarke has been on loan at Oldham this season, where he has clocked up 33 appearances in all competitions.
The 20-year-old defender has been with Arsenal since 2015, when he joined the Hale End setup from hometown club Ipswich Town.
Clarke signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in August 2018, and following an impressive season with the Under-23s, penned a new deal in December 2019.
The 6ft 2in ace captained the Gunners Under-21s against Crawley in their EFL Trophy victory last October, and is also an England youth international.
It’s not been the easiest of seasons for Oldham, but a run of three wins from their last four games has helped the Latics edge to within touching distance of the top half of the table.
Clarke was deployed at right wing-back against Harrogate on Tuesday evening and he put in a superb display for Keith Curle’s side en route to a 3-0 win.
Whoscored rated him at 8.17 – the second-highest score in the game – as he clocked up some impressive statistics.
Clarke had 82 touches of the ball, registered a shot on target, made one key pass, won six aerial challenges, and made two tackles, four interceptions, and six clearances.
He also attempted 45 passes and 17 long balls, of which six were accurate.
A few Oldham fans on social media praised Clarke for how well he did at RWB:
Clarke played as a wing back.
It suits him better at the moment. He had a nightmare in the back three in the last match.#oafc
