Arsenal Transfer News: Leandro Trossard has been offered as Mudryk alternative

Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Brighton winger Leandro Trossard, as the Gunners look to recover from missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Gunners watched on disbelief as Chelsea trumped them to the signing of Mudryk. In the end, finances were the big factor, with Chelsea paying close to £100m for the Ukrainian as well as offering a mammoth eight and a half year contract to the forward.

Since then, a number of names have been touted as potential alternatives for Arsenal. One of these is Brighton’s Trossard, who is set to leave the AMEX. And according to The Evening Standard, Arsenal have actually been offered the chance to sign Trossard.

One sticking point for clubs looking to sign Trossard could be the asking price. Brighton are wanting £25m for Trossard and aren’t willing to be ripped off in any potential sale.

For Arsenal, they might see Trossard as a cheap enough alternative to Mudryk though. After all, they were willing to spend north of £60m on the Ukrainian winger. Trossard’s asking price is less than they paid for Martin Odegaard, and that transfer has gone brilliantly.

TBR’s View: Arsenal need to evaluate any Trossard move fully

The big sticking point here really is why has Trossard fallen out so badly with the Brighton management. Arsenal will need to get to the bottom of that, as they don’t want anyone coming in to rock the boat right now.

Trossard has shown his quality this season. Ability wise he is probably a good, cheap enough signing for Arsenal and has been lauded as ‘unique‘ by Shane Duffy in the past.

However, the Gunners have to get their signings right. The title is within their grasp, and they’ll be wondering if it’s better to wait for the right player rather than just take Trossard because he’s there.

If push comes to shove, you do feel Arsenal might just bide their time over their next big signing.
