Arsenal offered Joao Felix loan, but their priority is Mudryk - journalist
Journalist Ben Jacobs has reported on Twitter that Arsenal have now been offered the chance to sign Joao Felix on a straight loan deal, but the Gunners are prioritising a move for Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Felix continues to be heavily linked with a move to the Premier League. He has had a difficult time with Atletico Madrid. And it seems that Diego Simeone’s men are ready to let him leave.
Jacobs has claimed that Atleti want over £85 million to sign him permanently. With that, a straight loan looks more likely, with the journalist suggesting that he has been offered to a host of clubs – including Arsenal.
Arsenal offered Joao Felix, but prioritising Mudryk
It will not come cheap, with Atletico wanting £8 million as a fee. They also want his £5.3 million wages covered while he is on his loan for the rest of the season.
And it seems that Arsenal are not planning to meet those demands, as things stand.
According to Jacobs, Arsenal’s priority is to sign Mudryk. His wages will be considerably lower. And the fact that he would join permanently would appeal to the Gunners…
Challenge for all João Félix suitors is he’s being offered on straight loan with no option to buy. That means an outlay of £8m (fee) and £5.3m (net salary). Felix offered to #AFC, #CFC, #MUFC, #NUFC and Villa. But a ‘give’ is needed by Atleti to make a loan more appealing. pic.twitter.com/Ah0Jafwe7a

Arsenal, as previously reported, remain focused on Mykhaylo Mudryk. He’s the priority because he has high potential, comparatively low wages, would be a permanent signing and no positional ‘friction’ when Gabriel Jesus returns.

Pressure on Arsenal to get their top target
Obviously, Felix will not be a cheap loan signing. However, Jacobs noted that Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle and Aston Villa have also been offered the 23-year-old.
So you would imagine that one of those sides will be prepared to sign him for the rest of the campaign. He is a ‘special‘ talent with the potential to be a lot better than he has been in the Spanish capital.
But Arsenal clearly feel that Mudryk would represent better value for money in the long-run. Reports have suggested that they have already made a bid worth up to £53 million.
The pressure will be on to make sure that they get a deal for the Ukrainian done, if they are prepared to miss out on Felix during the upcoming window.
