Arsenal trio Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson and Sead Kolasinac have been passed fit to face Newcastle United tomorrow, as per the club’s official website.
There were updates on other long-term absentees as well, as Mikel Arteta saw his ranks boosted ahead of the visit of Steve Bruce’s side.
The update read: “Sead Kolasinac – Available for selection following left thigh strain. Pablo Mari – In full training. Aiming to be available for selection for Olympiacos (A). Reiss Nelson – Available for selection following right hamstring strain. Bukayo Saka – Available for selection following knock to right leg.”
Full-backs Cedric and Kieran Tierney were given prognosis of a return before the end of the month as well as a small update on long-term absentee Calum Chambers.
TBR’s View – Arteta has to snap out of drawing habit
Arsenal have improved under Mikel Arteta but they need to stop drawing so many matches and Sunday’s game represents a major opportunity to do exactly that.
Newcastle can dig in under Steve Bruce but Arsenal should get the chance to dominate the ball and have to start turning draws into wins.
They won’t get too many chances and they are running out of time to make up ground in the table or face a season outside any kind of European football. Having as many players available to Arteta is only going to help as the Europa League kicks back in.
