Arsenal and Tottenham are both in the market for a new striker this summer.
The two north London clubs have number nine issues at the moment. The Gunners don’t have a clinical centre-forward on their books, while Spurs are yet to properly replace Harry Kane.
As you may imagine, both teams are fishing in similar ponds this summer when it comes to striking targets, and according to Rudy Galetti, both sides are now in for one exciting prospect.

Arsenal and Tottenham both want the same striker
According to Galetti, Arsenal have now entered the race to sign Santiago Gimenez from PSV this summer.
The Mexican forward has long been linked with a move to Spurs, but now, Arsenal have added him to their list of targets.
Gimenez has been smashing it over in the Eredivisie, and it looks as though a big move could be on the horizon.
Arsenal are more appealing
Gimenez may well be spoilt for choice here, but if he does have to choose between the two north London clubs, we have to believe that Arsenal would be his preference.
With all due respect to Tottenham, Mikel Arteta’s side are in a different tier to Spurs at the moment.
Arsenal are genuinely looking at challenging for the Premier League and Champions League titles this season, while Spurs are simply focused on qualifying for the Champions League next term.
Gimenez is certainly good enough to play for either team – recently described as ‘one of the top 10 players in Europe’ by his agent, and while that may be slightly hyperbolic, you can’t deny that this young man appears to have bags of ability.
Whether or not Spurs or Arsenal ultimately go for Gimenez remains to be seen, but don’t be shocked if this isn’t the only transfer target these two clubs butt heads over this summer.
