Arsenal now told they have a 21-year-old striker from Hale End who is a bit like Rasmus Hojlund

Arsenal have now been told that Hale End graduate Mika Biereth is similar to Manchester United No.11 Rasmus Hojlund.

It was Steffen Højer – manager of the Denmark U21 side – who made the comments when speaking to Bold.

So, what was said about Arsenal prospect Mika Biereth? Let’s take a look…

Mika Biereth likened to Rasmus Hojlund

Well, the Arsenal prodigy is currently on loan at Sturm Graz, where he is making quite the impact.

Biereth has scored five goals in just nine appearances – while also providing an assist – since joining the Austrian outfit on loan in January, after spending the first half of the 2023/24 campaign at Motherwell.

Sturm Graz is actually where Hojlund started to make a name for himself, earning a €17m (£15m) move to Atalanta after scoring 12 goals in 21 appearances for the Austrian giants, before eventually sealing a £72m switch to Manchester United in August 2023.

The Sturm Graz connection – coupled with the fact both strikers are Danish – has led to comparisons between the two.

While Højer himself does not see many similarities in terms of playing style, the 50-year-old did liken Biereth to the Denmark international in one respect, his obsession with goalscoring.

The Dane said: “I think it’s always dangerous to compare with someone who has just been sold for half a billion (Danish Krone). We’re at the point where we have to let Mika do his job. I think he does that really, really well. He’s not quite the same type as Rasmus, but what they have in common is that they really like to score goals.”

Arsenal must be impressed

Mikel Arteta and Edu are currently on the lookout for a new striker – there have apparently been talks with the representatives of Napoli No.9 Victor Osimhen at London Colney.

However – if Arsenal choose to promote from within – Biereth is surely making a claim for a promotion.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye of Ian Wright with his efforts out on loan, and judging by the rise of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah, there is no reason why he cannot become the next Hale End product to shine under Arteta.
