Arsenal now make their move to sign £22m player Jurgen Klopp says is 'unbelievable' - journalist
Arsenal want to sign West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen this summer and have enquired about his availability already.
Give Me Sport claim that Arsenal are still in the market for a wide forward after missing out on Raphinha, who joined Barcelona.
Bukayo Saka was the club’s player of the year, playing on the right wing and cutting in onto his left foot, but Mikel Arteta clearly wants someone else who can do that.
But journalist Ben Jacobs says that the Hammers are reluctant to sell Bowen and have placed a huge pricetag on his head of £75 million.
Arsenal want Jarrod Bowen
Jacobs said: “With Bowen, West Ham’s stance remains that they really don’t want to sell, so there’s a lot of clubs circling over Bowen.
“But the challenge, much like Declan Rice, is persuading West Ham to sell during this window and West Ham remain pretty intent not to let him go.
“So, there’s lots of excitement about Bowen moving potentially to a club like Arsenal, but it’s all hypothetical at the moment, because West Ham don’t want to sell.
“But Arsenal have definitely made an enquiry around Bowen to see what the situation is, but that’s what they’ve been told.”
A £75 million outlay would be a club record for Arsenal and would see West Ham more than treble the £22 million the Guardian reported they paid to sign Bowen from Hull in January 2020.
He has since become a full England international and a player Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has described as ‘unbelievable’.
“Bowen, what a player he became. Unbelievable,” said the Reds boss.
“We saw him as well at Hull and he was really good at that time. I’m not sure a lot of people expected this jump, but unbelievable player.”
