Arsenal are reportedly in constant contact with Brazil’s national team over Gabriel Jesus, who is suffering from a hamstring injury.

According to the Evening Standard, the Gunners have been in regular talks with the South American giants over the 26-year-old’s fitness, with Jesus left out of Brazil’s fixture tonight against Colombia.

Jesus was a surprise pick in Fernando Diniz’s squad for Brazil’s November fixtures, with the Arsenal striker missing the last few weeks of Premier League action due to a hamstring injury.

Whilst the attacker is now back in training, it appears that this international break might have come too soon for Jesus, who is set to miss the first South American World Cup qualifier of the month.

Indeed, whilst there is hope that Jesus could face Argentina, Arsenal fans will be hopeful that the forward isn’t involved, with the striker simply too valuable to lose heading into the festive period.

And Arsenal being in regular contact with Brazil over Jesus is a good thing, with the north London side likely putting pressure on the Selecao to not overwork the forward.

As mentioned, Brazil’s decision to select Jesus for this international break was a strange one, to say the least, and Arsenal will be hoping that the attacker returns to England without a new injury.

The former Manchester City star is one of Arsenal’s most important players and someone Arteta has found hard to replace in the main starting XI.

And whilst Jesus is now making good progress on overcoming his hamstring injury, the Gunners will be praying that nothing happens between now and the end of the international break.

Key games against Aston Villa and Liverpool are on the horizon for the Gunners, and having Jesus fit will be massive in Arsenal maintaining their Premier League title charge.
