It never feels like it’s easy for Arsenal fans in the transfer window and it looks like they might have to walk away from one potential deal already.
The Gunners have made big splashes in recent summers by landing players like Declan Rice and Kai Havertz.
However, there always seems to be one that got away for the Gunners and you only have to look back at potential deals for Dusan Vlahovic and Mykhaylo Mudryk as examples of players who looked to be close to signing before making moves elsewhere.
As we know, Arsenal are pushing hard to sign Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna, while they also have an interest in Spanish midfielder, Mikel Merino.
But when it comes to another potential midfielder signing, it looks like Arsenal are going to have to call it a day.
Arsenal could admit defeat in bid to sign Bruno Guimaraes
According to a report from GiveMeSport, Arsenal could be about to thrown the towel in when it comes to landing Bruno Guimaraes.
It’s reported by GMS that while interest is high in the midfielder and Mikel Arteta is a big fan, there are major stumbling blocks in place.

Newcastle want more than £100m for their man after his release-clause expired, while there is also a concern that Manchester City’s interest has caught Guimaraes’ eye.
Arsenal’s interest in the Brazilian is well known and after a superb couple of seasons at St James’ Park, it’s little wonder the Gunners like him.
But now, it looks like they could be ready to move on and pursue other targets.
Of course, missing out on the ‘world-class’ Bruno will not define the window for Arsenal nor the season coming up.
The potential signing of Merino could well solve the midfield issue, while they remain in the market for a forward and a defender.
Just quite who gets a deal done and signed, though, remains to be seen.
