Arsenal are increasingly confident of finally signing Leicester City midfielder, Youri Tielemans, with a bid in January potentially coming from the Gunners.
Tielemans has been on Arsenal’s radar for some time now. He was watched all last season and in the summer, was widely expected to move to The Emirates. However, Tielemans remained in Leicester and has been partly responsible for a turnaround in form at the club in recent weeks.
But according to 90Min, Tielemans won’t be extending his deal with the Foxes, despite Brendan Rodgers’ hopes. And with that, it’s suggested Arsenal will look to make their move.

90Min reports how Arsenal are now ‘confident’ they’ll be able to sign Tielemans. Whether that means paying for him in January or getting him for nothing in the summer, the Gunners feel he is theirs to go and get.
Landing Tielemans would bring an end to Mikel Arteta’s search for quality midfield reinforcements. The likes of Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka have been lauded this season. However, there is an acceptance that squad depth is not quite there for a sustained title challenge.
Should Tielemans arrive in January, then the Gunners will fancy their chances of keeping pace with City more than ever.
TBR’s View: Arsenal need Youri Tielemans in January
There might not be a better time than now for Arsenal to go for the title. Other sides are struggling, meaning it looks like a straight shootout between themselves and City.
With that in mind, it makes sense for Arsenal to back Arteta in January. And adding Tielemans would be perfect.
They need a midfielder to bring experience, quality, and class to the middle of the park. Tielemans is that player, with Roberto Martinez recently labelling the Leicester man as a ‘very mature’ player.
Ultimately, Tielemans is the perfect Arsenal signing in January.
