One of Arsenal’s more under the radar pieces of recent business has been the arrival of Norwegian talent George Lewis.
The winger arrived on a free transfer after a previous spell at Fram Larvik after impressing during a trial spell at the North London club.
Expected to be a player for the under-23s, Lewis has already been given a chance to shine with the first-team during this week’s pre-season friendly against MK Dons.
Arsenal won the game 4-1 and Lewis came on for Reiss Nelson late on to make his Arsenal debut.

Now, the 20-year-old has been speaking to the press in Norway about making his debut, and the possibility of featuring in the Community Shield against Liverpool this weekend.
“It’s so big, simply amazing. It’s something I’ll take with me for the rest of my life,” Lewis told iTromso. “I trained for a week with U23 and then I was taken into the bubble around the A-team and trained with them this week…
“It is exciting and I learn a lot. I play and train with the best in the world. I am grateful and hopefully, it makes me a better football player.
Regarding a potential meeting with Liverpool this weekend the youngster remained grounded. “I take one day at a time. What happens happens.”
It would be a shock if Lewis does feature at Wembley and would represent a massive rise into the first-team ranks at Arsenal so soon after his arrival.
The likelihood remains that Lewis is destined for a season in the under-23 set-up at Arsenal, where he will hope to catch the eye and eventually move into the first-team.
But there is no doubt he is a player Arsenal fans will be keeping their eyes on going forward after his impressive early impact at The Emirates.
