2 dribbles, 29 passes: Arsenal must sign £150,000-a-week star who could dazzle at the Emirates - TBR View
Christian Pulisic is being monitored by Arsenal and Newcastle ahead of January. On Friday night, he showcased what he’s all about with a mature and confident display for the USA against England.
The 24-year-old captained the Stars and Stripes during the clash. He stood head and shoulders above his teammates on a night when they were unfortunate not to claim all three points.
Pulisic has been in and out of the Chelsea team this season. He’s played just 415 minutes in the Premier League; starting just three games during 2022/23.
As a result, he’s now being linked with a move. Arsenal are keen on signing him, whilst Newcastle are also monitoring the situation.
Pulisic will have just a year to run on his contract in the summer. With that in mind, the Blues could decide to cash in on the USA captain.
On Friday he showcased his class to any potential suitors. Who Scored showcased just how useful he was during the clash with England.
He completed two successful dribbles and managed to draw three fouls from the opposition. Pulisic also registered one key pass and made 29 passes throughout his 90 minutes on the pitch.
Pulisic being monitored by Arsenal and they have to act
The Gunners are enjoying a very decent campaign. At the pause in domestic action for the World Cup, they sit top of the league with a five-point cushion on Manchester City in second.
Pulisic would be a very useful signing for January. He wouldn’t cost that much and his current salary of £150,000-a-week would fit with the club’s wage structure.
Whether or not Arsenal can sustain their title charge will largely depend on January. If they can add some meat to the bones of their squad they could be in business.
Pulisic simply needs to play. He’s a very versatile performer and he could complement the current crop of Gunners’ talent very nicely.
On Friday, Pulisic offered a glimpse of his quality and in the process, he’s given Arsenal some serious food for thought.
