Arsenal could be in line for a major fitness boost before the season finishes, with Thomas Partey back up and running just a few weeks after being injured at Crystal Palace.

The Ghanaian midfielder came off in the 3-0 loss at Selhurst Park and there were worries at the time that Partey might miss the rest of the season. Mikel Arteta was concerned as well, with Partey being a key midfielder all season and his loss being a blow to the club.

However, in a photo shared by Football.London’s Kaya Kaynak today, Partey can be seen already back on the treadmill as he steps up his return from injury.

If Partey can return for Arsenal between now and the end of the season then it would be a huge bonus for Mikel Arteta.

Of course, the Gunners have won twice against top four rivals this week and Mo Elneny has come back into the XI and done a good job. However, it’s widely accepted that Partey and Xhaka are Arsenal’s best midfield duo.

Partey has struggled with a few injuries since arriving from Atletico Madrid. Should he get back between now and the end of the season, then Mikel Arteta is likely to use the Ghana star, if he’s fully fit.
