Arsenal midfielder Denis Suarez’s stint at the Emirates is threatening to turn into a bit of a joke.
The Spaniard has only made six substitute appearances for the club since joining on loan from Barcelona in January.
It has now emerged that Suarez is being dogged by a persistent groin injury, which prevented him from featuring against Watford on Monday night.

The Daily Mail report that Suarez has been struggling in training in recent weeks, and club physios have suggested a reduced role for the player as a means of managing the issue.
The niggling injury might explain why Suarez has been used so sparingly by Unai Emery, who must eventually make a decision over a player who can be signed for £20 million this summer as per the terms of his loan agreement.
TBR’s view
It’s been a torrid time at the Emirates for Suarez, who barely featured for Barca in the first half of the season, and he appears to have been struggling with injury ever since he stepped through the door.
It certainly makes the transfer seem a strange one.
There are shades of the infamous Kim Kallstrom deal back in 2014 – the Swede was signed on loan by Arsene Wenger despite having a back injury.

He only made four appearances for the Gunners, in what is viewed by many as one of Wenger’s worst-ever/most bizarre transfers.
Suarez’s continued struggles leave him in serious danger of being put in that very same bracket.
