Arsenal completed the £26million signing (Sky Sports) of Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira in the summer and that is beginning to look like daylight robbery.
The Gunners managed to snap up the 22-year-old enforcer from Serie A and manager Unai Emery has to be commended for the deal.
It’s still relatively early into his time in the Premier League, but the defensive midfielder appears to tick all the boxes and is making a huge difference to the North London club with his presence in the XI.
Torreira is a no-nonsense midfielder that is extremely strong in the tackle and plays the anchoring role in front of the defence superbly well.
He’s got the ability to read play quickly and has a brilliant engine with a great work-rate.

Arsenal fans have quickly started to see the impact Torreira can have in Emery’s side and he’s become a permanent feature in the team.
The Uruguay international showed his class on Friday in a narrow 1-0 defeat to Brazil and was his usual industrious self in the centre of the park.
At his age he should only keep improving and £26million could turn out looking a snip when he eventually reaches the prime years of his career.
Torreira has the fighting edge to his game that Arsenal have lacked over the years and his presence has helped them get back in the race for the top four of the Premier League.
