Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock has caught the attention of England observers heading into the final Premier League games of the season as the on-loan youngster continues to impress.
According to the Chronicle, the 21-year-old Hale End academy graduate is under consideration for a first senior England call-up following his recent run of form for Newcastle United, with Willock scoring his fifth goal for Steve Bruce’s side on Friday night in their 4-2 win over Leicester City.

Willock has been influential for the club’s recent upturn in form, with the dynamic midfielder scoring vital goals against the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool to seal crucial points for Newcastle, with the Newcastle boss believing that the youngster has ‘a big future’ after aiding the northeast club to Premier League safety.
The Arsenal academy graduate has been part of the England set-up for some time, with Willock making appearances at four different age groups for the Three Lions, most recently at U-21 level, playing for a group that involved the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Phil Foden and Max Aarons.

TBR View: Free-scoring Willock could offer England something new for EURO 2020
With nations now allowed to bring a 26-man squad to this summer’s EUROs rather than 23, Gareth Southgate has been gifted a useful luxury that will allow the England manager to call up players who can offer England something unique, and Willock can do just that for the Three Lions.
His goalscoring record from midfield at club-level this season is impressive, with Willock bagging eight goals in all competitions for both Arsenal and Newcastle, a good record for a player who largely sits deep in the midfield and enjoys making bursting runs into the penalty area.

Although it will be a surprise for Willock to get the nod over the likes of Jack Grealish, Bukayo Saka and James Maddison, the Arsenal youngster offers England abilities and attacking awareness from midfield that could be of use to England this summer.
